I am not disabled (two of our party were and were not treated the best), but I DO have congenital bone defects in both feet and nerve damage progressively from the knees down. I have NEVER been expected to STAND for even close to that long a duration! Back in the day, we had our own powerboat and belonged to a yacht club, so I have sailed before as well. The company DOES NOT guarantee seating - in fact, seems to think that expecting guests to STAND for the 4-6 hour duration of the sail (company also seems to use sail and tour interchangeably) is a perfectly normal expectation. We booked the Fireworks tour - and the proximity of the boat to the fantastic fireworks display is the ONLY thing bringing this rating back to average. ![]() None of this was a deal breaker per se, but at $550/person this felt like a significant premium for what was delivered. No one helping to build energy and ensure everyone had a great night. No history of the various monuments we visited. I would have preferred a more upbeat band, it's July 4th. A quartet with Titanic vibes with three boats in proximity with raging music was hard to ignore. The band was excellent but was likely the wrong choice. ![]() ![]() Also I understand we're on a boat but we still need warm food served warm, it's not too much to coordinate. The food was decent but presentation could have improved. The remaining attendees had seats but they were often "claimed" and then "taken" by people who genuinely needed a seat. People who arrived closer to departure did not get seats and many actually left the boat and I don't blame them. There were only so many seats and I'm not sure how the vendor expected so many people to stand for four-five hours. The service was excellent, Haruka (sp) was friendly and found the right balance of working the ship but also being hospitably friendly and sociable. We went on a special July 4th all you can eat, all you can drink five hour fireworks ride. Should you require any further information or details regarding the incident, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at Atendido I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We trust that Manhattan by Sail will address this issue with the utmost seriousness and professionalism. However, it is crucial that your crew members are aware of the significance of respectful communication and treat all paying customers with the dignity they deserve. We understand that identifying the individual might be challenging without more information. While I do not have a name or remember the crew member's face, I would appreciate it if you could investigate this incident thoroughly. Hence, I felt it necessary to reach out directly to you to address this matter promptly. I would like to stress that this incident is especially disheartening considering that I spent $1,000 for my wife’s birthday for this sail.Īdditionally, I would like to mention that I have been awaiting an email from your company to provide feedback on our trip, but as of now, I have not received any communication. Such a comment was highly inappropriate and disrespectful to my friends and me, and it cast a shadow over what was meant to be a joyous celebration. He said, "they are checking passports up top," seemingly directed at our group of Asians. As we were exiting the ship at the end of the sail, a white male crew member made a racial comment that left us feeling deeply uncomfortable. Regrettably, our experience was marred by an incident involving one of your crew members. ![]() We had chosen your esteemed company to celebrate my wife's birthday, looking forward to a memorable evening on the beautiful ship. My name is Christian Atendido, and I am writing on behalf of a group of ten friends who embarked on this particular voyage with Manhattan by Sail. We hope this doesn’t happen to other groups in the future.įirstly, let me introduce myself. Before delving into the details, I would like to emphasize that our intention is not to disparage your company but rather to address a concerning issue that tarnished our experience. I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident that occurred during our recent sunset sail on the Clipper City this past Saturday, June 24th at 7:30 pm. I emailed Manhattan by the Sail on June 26 but have not received a response so i would like to bring this up here.
